This week project manager Robert Flatli and expert coordinator Joakim Pettersen visited the Sàmi colleges in Kautokeino and Karasjok. The meetings confirmed that both Reindeerherding and Duodji will be on the program when ArcticSkills 21 launches the distance competition with digital tools in March next year.
In addition to the Sàmi competences, Kautokeino will participate in Building Construction, but of course, in this competence they have to make their way to the final in strong competition with the other colleges in Finnmark fylkeskommune.
The lead experts in Reindeerherding and Duodji will be Samuel Gaup and Sara Inga Utsi Bongo.
It is also a pleasure to welcome the Upper Secondary School in Karasjok into the field of vocational skills competitions. This year they will compete to make their way into the finals of ArcticSkills through participation in the Finnmark county championship!
