ArcticSkills 2025 - The Date is Set!
Sweden, Utbildning Nord and Gränsälvsgymnasiet, invites to ArcticSkills 2025 on Wednesday April 2nd.
The opening ceremony will take place on Tuesday evening, followed by a full day of competitions on Wednesday, culminating in the prize ceremony that evening.
The board convened on September 3rd, 2024, in Övertorneå to discuss and finalize plans for next year’s tournament.
The competition will feature the same 13 professions as last year:
Building Construction, Car Painting, Cooking, Duodji, Electrician, Hairdressing, Health and Social Care, Heavy Machinery Operation, Motor Vehicle Mechanics, Plumbing, Reindeer Husbandry, Waiting, and Welding.
Additionally, Child and Youth Care has been proposed as a demo subject for the competition and will be discussed further with educators in each country.
The competition will take place in Övertorneå for all subjects, except Heavy Macinery Operator and Car painting. REDU or Kemi location will be considered.
Some changes have been made to the board. Mattias Söder will be leaving his position and will be replaced by Patrik Aili, while Pilvi Ryökkynen has taken over as the new Director of Utbildning Nord. From Gränsälvsgymnasiet, Eva Mäkitaavola will replace Hilkka Vikström.
The date for the next expert and board meeting will be December 4th in Övertorneå.
The Board looks forward collaborating with experts and students in the lead-up to ArcticSkills 2025.
